Bow Pose or Bow Asana
Bow Asana or Bow Posture
Bow Pose is also know as Dhanura Asana in Samskrata. Dhanur means bow and asana means posture. Hence Dhanurasana(Dhanur+Asana) means bow posture
Benefits
1. By practicing the bow posture one applies pressure unto the stomach that serves to reduce any excess fat in that area and activates both large and small intestine, the spleen and the liver.
2. This asana helps rid the body of indigestion and gout and relieves those suffering from dyspepsia, rheumatism and other gastro-intestinal disorders. Generally these disorders are brought on by the accumulation of toxins in the body. By performing the boat posture one helps to eliminate these poisons.
3. By practicing regularly it increases appetite and laziness in the body and mind will be overcome.
4. The effect of bow pose on the Manipuri cakra assists in balancing the secretion of hormones from adrenal glands, removing stress, fear and tension and instilling peace to an otherwise restless mind.
